Venice, CA (June 26, 2018) – In anticipation of this afternoon’s Google event announcing the arrival of its long-awaited Los Angeles data center, Shamrock Consulting Group partnered with Google, SADA Systems and others last Friday, June 22nd to host a breakfast event highlighting the many benefits for migrating to the cloud with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
The event placed a specific focus on how Google’s newest cloud region will yield immediate and wide-ranging advantages for companies in and around Los Angeles via lower latencies and more agile workflows, especially for the plethora of local media and entertainment companies.
The keynote speakers represented some top companies in the cloud space, all with extensive expertise within varying aspects of cloud computing: Chad Milam (COO & CTO, PacketFabric), Josh Fraser (SVP of Sales & Business Development, RightScale), Simon Margolis (Director of Cloud Platform, SADA Systems) and Adrian Graham (Cloud Solutions Architect, Google).
Ben Ferguson, Shamrock’s VP and Sr. Network Architect, delivered the opening presentation with a poignant statement about how cloud is already transforming the status quo:
“We’re at the dawn of a new industrial revolution. Experts have predicted that as many as 75% of businesses currently in the S&P 500 will be replaced by 2028. Smaller and more nimble companies will take on a much larger market share based on their ability to leverage the cloud and deliver services more quickly and on a global scale. Today we will highlight some of Google’s incredible democratized tools, all of which can be consumed immediately.”
Google’s Weird Al Room was filled to capacity on Friday, and Tuesday’s event promises to be an even bigger GCP showcase. Shamrock will once again be out in force to offer expertise on how LA-based businesses can best utilize the cloud for maximum efficiency and major cost savings.
